Rainbow Trout Music Festival Bike Jam - ????
A little birdie mentioned that there may be a Rainbow Trout Music Festival Bike Jam happening during Bike Week.

Check out their Facebook page HERE for details.

What’s a Bike Jam?:

The folks at the RTMF care about having a good time all year round, and one of their most popular events is the monthly RTMF Bike Jam.

Hundreds and hundreds (or 1000’s at Nuit Blanche 2015) of cyclists hit the city at night following secret routes to street level dance parties. Tunes are provided all along the entire route by our rolling pedal powered stereo systems that take the party wherever they want it to go!!

Good friends, good times, and lots of blinking lights, the RTMF Bike Jams are Winnipegs most unique outdoor community events, and everyone is invited.

Remember, lots of lights and keep to the right!

Ciclovia 11:00am- 5:00pm
June 24th, 2018 marks the 9th Ciclovia event in Winnipeg- and the first year it will be a part of Bike Week 2018! This exciting event, which has long been a part of ManyFest hosted by the Downtown Winnipeg Biz. The Ciclovia committee was looking for a new home for this event and we couldn’t think of a better place than during our week long celebration of active transportation and bikes!

Ciclovia is a Spanish term that means “cycleway”. (Here is how to pronounce it – https://forvo.com/word/ciclov%C3%ADa/) Ciclovia began in Bogotá, Colombia in 1974 and has grown into an event where some streets are blocked off to cars and open to bikes, runners, skaters, and other forms of self-propelled transportation. While Ciclovia in Winnipeg won’t match Bogota’s (not yet anyway) it will be a promotion of great cycling routes and a big party at Winnipeg’s favourite meeting place, the Forks!

On June 24th, we invite you to ride to The Forks along our suggested routes. These are comfortable, family friendly routes that tie existing Sunday street closures on Wellington, Wolseley, Scotia Street and North East Pioneers Greenway and also include our special event day street or lane closures. Visit: https://www.bikeweekwinnipeg.com/ciclovia-map/ to see these special routes.

At The Forks you can take in activities for all ages, including demonstrations, activities, tabling and a Third+Bird Artisan Market. For young families the bike demos, bike decorating and tie dye stations will be a hit. Plus a juggling workshop and Winnipeg Public Library’s book bike will be there too!

Enjoy free swing dancing, yoga, zumba classes by Zin Aila and JLS Zwaggers and the Funtaztic Crew, and a hula jam with Kurrant Motion throughout the day all to the tune of a sweet mix of music by Mama Cutsworth– a dance party for the whole family! Plus special guest musicians!
