Join Liv Ambassador Sarah Gravelle-Mackenzie for social rides that aim to encourage and support women 55+ to get out and ride their bikes. It will be a great opportunity to develop your confidence and skills while riding. This initiative is supported by Bikes and Beyond, who will provide opportunities to build your knowledge of basic bike maintenance through a workshop.
Times: Meet Up @ 8:30 | Ride Starts @ 9:00
Location: Will change monthly but will be on bike paths and trails in 3 areas: Transcona Trail, Gateway/ Chief Peguis Trails, and Duff Roblin Trail into Birds Hill Park. The routes will mostly be flat with the plan of introducing some easy hills as the rides progress over the summer. All rides are no-drop.
Level of experience: Beginner to intermediate
Number of participants: Maximum of 6 people.
Objectives: To encourage and support women 55+ to get out and ride their bikes. Help them develop their confidence and skills while riding. Provide opportunities to build their knowledge of basic bike maintenance through a workshop at Bikes and Beyond. Hopefully, inspire and motivate women to join this cycling initiative and help me grow it so I can reach even more women next year. Most of all my objective is to make all the rides fun so everyone wants to keep doing it.
