SUMMARY:Cruisin' To Change Lives - 30
DESCRIPTION:Cruisin’ To Change Lives is a pledge driven event to help children and youth with disabilities live as independently as possible. Participants bike\, skate\, walk or wheel through the beautiful Assiniboine Forest to raise awareness and funds for Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation. Over a hundred cyclists on commercial and specialized bikes will participate. Registration is required\, and all registered participants that fundraise $250 or more will receive an event gift\, and a light lunch is served after the “Cruise”.

DESCRIPTION:Cruisin’ to Change lives is a free\, peer-to-peer fundraising and community event. Hosted by the Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation\, this event raises funds to improve the lives of children living with disabilities who access services at the Rehabilitation Centre for Children. Funds raised by teams support inclusive recreational programs\, vital services\, specialized equipment & technology\, and research\, in addition to bikes which are built to meet and fit the child’s specific needs\, all of which help youth achieve their potential and participate fully in their communities.Attendees are encouraged to bring their bikes to cruise down a 1 or 3 km guided path. To participate\, register or join a team on the Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation’s Cruisin’ to Change Lives website.

The lab hosts workshops for all skill levels and it is also open during the week for cyclists to drop-by and work on their bikes. \n\n\n\nThe UWSA Bike Lab is committed to community engagement and being a welcoming and safe neighbourhood meeting/learning space. Special programs\, including cycling repair\, build-a-bike and cycling safety workshops will be running over the fall and winter terms as well as regular student and community access hours during our drop-in sessions throughout the year.
