SUMMARY:Ride Marshal Training w/ Bike Winnipeg
DESCRIPTION:Bike Winnipeg Ride Marshal Training helps create safer group rides for everyone! This workshop is offered for those interested in supporting medium to large groups of all ages and abilities. If you are an experienced cyclist this is a great way to get involved in our efforts to get more people biking more often. Although this training is useful for anyone running group rides\, those attending are expected to volunteer to marshal with Bike Winnipeg at least twice this summer. There is no cost for this course. \n\n\n\nTraining will take place in Room 2 of the Sport Manitoba Building (145 Pacific @ Lily). Bikes can be locked in a secure bike room in the parkade. Ask for the key to the bike room at the security desk. \n\n\n\nPlease RVSP Mark (mark@bikewinnipeg.ca) to attend.  \n\n\n\nTraining is free\, but space is limited.

DESCRIPTION:Every Wednesday at 7pm we’ll leave from the Community centre and explore our neighbourhood and other parts of the city connected by bike paths. This is a relaxed ride that only goes as fast as our slowest rider. Come join us and meet your neighbours and discover how connected our community is to bike infrastructure throughout the city. \n\n\n\nAll rides will return to the Bourkevale Community Centre at 8pm unless otherwise stated. All riders are welcome\, Bikes need to be in good working condition and children under the age of 18 must wear a helmet.

All our Open Shop services and repairs follow a “suggested price” model. We appreciate customers who are able to chip in a bit more\, as it helps us provide repairs for those who cannot afford full prices!  \n\n\n\nOpen Shop is operated by appointment\, and is intended to serve as many people as possible in an orderly fashion. The Wrench reserves the right to limit the amount of repairs/parts/bikes depending on the day to ensure there is enough to go around. To book your slot\, simply choose your intended service from the options below. If you attend open shop without appointment (as a walk-up)\, we may not be able to guarantee you a repair. ​  \n\n\n\nJust need some time to work with a stand? Come by and utilize our outdoor bike stand (summer only) and toolset to fix your bike by donation. Each stand session is limited to about 30 minutes to accommodate as many people as possible.

DESCRIPTION:Local cyclist Steve Lambert shows you that there are various ways to explore Winnipeg on bicycle via trails\, separated paths and speed-reduced residential streets (although there are some areas where the cycling infrastructure leaves a lot to be desired).  \n\n\n\nThere are three bingo cards: an easier one that features more protected infrastructure and direct travel\, a harder one that is more on-road and has some hard-to-find spots\, and a historical tour bringing you to historically significant places in Winnipeg. Each bingo card has 25 or more landmarks. You can click on buttons to be shown a row\, column or loop of landmarks\, which will be highlighted. You can click repeatedly until you find one you like. Some are relatively short (15-20 km) lines of five landmarks. Others are longer. Once you decide on a row\, column or loop\, you can click on the “Map it” button and a suggested route will pop up\, showing you one potential way to reach all of the selected landmarks. There is also a “hardcore” challenge which requires you to visit all landmarks on the bingo card in one day. If you do that and can provide evidence via a publicly available tracker (such as Strava)\, you can be added to our Wall of Fame. See the full map for our easier\, harder\, and history hardcore challenges below along with some helpful .gpx files to keep you on track during your ride.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWarning: Cycling in Winnipeg includes areas where cyclists are not separated from traffic\, and that suggested routes may not reflect current conditions and that you responsible for planning a route that suits current infrastructure and road conditions as well as your personal health and ability.
